ABOUT
The Malaysian Skills Certification Programme through the Academy in Industry (ADi) approach was introduced to meet the competency requirements of the industrial workforce by integrating 20% theoretical learning and 80% work-based experience, in line with the National Occupational Skills Standard (NOSS).
This programme provides opportunities for individuals working in industry to obtain formal recognition through structured training and work experience. It helps to enhance the skills of the local workforce, reduce reliance on foreign workers, improve industrial competitiveness, and open up broader career opportunities for workers.
Learning Objective
Understand the Role of the Department of Skills Development (DSD)
Introduce apprentices to the functions and responsibilities of the DSD in developing national skills and ensuring quality training standards.
Understand the Malaysian Skills Certification System (MSCS) and NOSS
Provide basic knowledge of MSCS and NOSS and their importance in recognising skills and qualifications in industry.
Explain the Concept and Importance of ADi Apprenticeship
Build understanding of the ADi Apprenticeship concept, its goals, and the accreditation process in developing a skilled workforce.
